The "AgroBarriera" project came from a work of joint planning between RE.TE. Ngo and associations Parco del Nobile, the Institute for Environment and Education Scholè Futuro Onlus and Volontarinrete, who won the tender "grow Barriera", sponsored by the Agency of Urban Development for the redevelopment of a Barriera di Milano area, to turn into a place for collective activities and inclusive urban agriculture through civic, social and sustainable agriculture actions.
Project objectives: promoting the social inclusion of vulnerable and disadvantaged subjects, through agroeocologiche practices; facilitate the processes of integration, awareness and citizenship to sustainable urban agriculture practices and active citizenship.
The area is divided into 20 individual gardens, assigned to citizens through tender, and in a portion of collective gardens open to local schools and associations.
